4th 5th Lockout Fix

Since I installed my 4th/5th gear lockout, it's had an issue, the spring isn't strong enough to hold the lockout in place. I decided I wanted it locked down when in use. The lockout needs to be fairly easy to engage and disengage in case reverse is needed. After looking at various I decided on a lock down tab held in place by a wing bolt.  Once I figured out what I needed, the mod was fairly simple.  The hold down is a rivnut through one of the support bars and the hold down was a basic compound bent piece of steel flat bar.  Since the bolt will rub on the bar, I decided to blue the steel rather than paint it.

To go with this mod, I also fabricated a gas pedal extension.  The fabrication was easy enough, reaching to install it was a bitch.

I sat down in the car to give it a test.  Probably 1/3 of the time I would go for the brake, i'd get a bit of accelerator, not safe.  I practiced for a while, but still occasionally got an unwanted throttle blip.  Frustrated and disappointed, I pulled it out.  I re-tried some throttle blips and found I was fixing a problem that I really didn't have.
The car is basically ready to go for the next event.  I need to take some time and get my tow vehicle back in tip top shape.
